The Rio 180 litre aquarium comes with all the necessary equipment to set up either a cold water or heated tank

Filter System – Juwel Bioflow Medium
The filter comes with 5 stage filtration these include from top to bottom

• Fine particle filter floss (mechanical pre-filter) which is also know as a poly pad, these are used for the collection of larger dirt particles which can be found in the aquarium. It is recommended that these are replaced every week.
• Bio carb, which is an active charcoal enriched sponge which removes discolouration and odours, these should be replaced monthly.
• Nitrax (biological filter media) this is used break down nitrates in the aquarium, which will help towards minimising algae growth. To be replaced every two months
• Coarse sponge (mechanical & biological media)allows the growth of friendly bacteria, change every 3 months
• Fine sponge, which is principally used for the purpose of biological filtering within the anearobic region. Juwel recommend that these are replaced every 3 to 9 months

Heater – Juwel Aqua Heat 200w
The 200 watt glass heater supplied is shatterproof for added piece of mind, and can be set to temperatures between 16° and 32° but this is very much dependant on the ambient room temperature. As a general rule a tropical fish aquarium set up should have a water temperature of around 25° but certain species may prefer a slightly warmer or colder climate. If you are looking in to breeding a specific fish, finding out their optimum temperature is a must.

Stand / Cabinet
The matching grey base ensures the safety of your aquarium, there is no need to place foam between the glass aquarium and cabinet. It is important that the fish tank is only used with a genuine Juwel stand as otherwise this will invalidate the guarantee of the aquariums structure.
The stand comes compete with push to open and close doors and has plenty of room to store all your equipment such as net, gravel cleaner and food.

Lighting – Juwel LED Multilux
The waterproof LED lighting combines day and nature bulbs which are now 50% more energy efficient than the previous T5 light tubes. It also comes with a handy on / off rocker switch
The light bar is perfectly suitable for both gold fish and tropical fish, plus it has been designed to encourage a healthy planted tank for those who wish to keep living plants as opposed to silk or plastic.
